The above photo is the end result of a modern bathroom remodel that included a previous tub and shower surround (one piece).  The below photo was the result our creativity to create more useable space.  The doorway was shifted to accommodate a barn door that allowed for a shift in where the vanity was placed.  Waterproof flooring was installed as well as custom ordered glass for the custom built shower.
